Find A Hobby- How about Chalkboard Art?

If you’ve been to my personal Facebook page, then you’ve probably seen my monthly post with a newly created chalkboard. After our bedroom- turned parlor remodel, I had a blank canvas on the closet door. What would I do to dress it up? Add some chalkboard paint and start creating.

It is a great area to promote and highlight the upcoming month’s events. I also find fun quotes and graphics. It features birthday wishes and holiday greetings.

This is something anyone can do. You can scale the size up or down- whatever your home or ambition level dictates. You’ll need just a few dollars for some black chalkboard paint and white chalk, and you’re on your way. You could even splurge for colored chalk? Watch out!

If you don’t have a full door or wall use the same technique on any décor. Another piece in my parlor- a painted bottle- features a tiny chalkboard. The beautifully decorated bottle came from my good friend, Cindy. It matched this room perfectly. I’ve customized it by adding our brand to the chalkboard section she’d created on the front. So simple, but so awesome! It’s a one-of-a-kind piece.

Share your chalkboard art in the comments below. I’d love to see what everyone is doing. None to share? Get started- it’s cheap and easy and you definitely don’t need to be an artist to include a chalkboard feature in your home.
