Redwood Moonfire
Lot 44 at the Tri State Select Horse Sale, Palmyra, Missouri, Saturday Oct. 24, 2026
“Diego” A stunning 5 year old chromed up registered palomino gelding that will turn heads everywhere you take him! Dependable, responsive, and easy to get along with in any environment. Diego has the experience and ability to go in any direction- your next dream horse- a rope or ranch horse, performance horse, trail riding horse or just about anything you can think of.
Slow him down or speed him up! Diego is versatile and just the right size at 15 hands. He’s easy to shoe and handle- bathes, loads and hauls. After entering our training program as a two year old, he has become my wife’s personal horse for ranch work, trail riding and her patient, trustworthy mount for her endless capturing of ranch videos and photos.
His consistent training has also advanced into the roping arena where he’s been started on the head and heel side. He takes both his leads, spins both ways and has a nice stop. All aspects of ranch work (from being in the branding pen to gathering or sorting cattle, pasture roping and everything in between), team roping, trail, ranch rodeos- you name it he has done it.

Carrying the American Flag during the Grand Entry of the Missouri High School Rodeo.
With lots of exposure, being hauled locally and even to the Nebraska Sandhills, Diego has seen the sights. From touring through downtown streets, the chaos of High School Rodeo Grand Entry and pushing calves out during the performance, to dogs, wildlife and cattle coming from any direction, on all types of terrain, he remains calm and gets his job done. The same whether you ride him once a month or once a week.
Exploring Downtown and the edge of Campus
Purchased from the Open Box Rafter Ranch (South Dakota), Diego made his way to Missouri and is eligible for the AQHA Ranch Heritage Breeders Challenge.
Diego is a beauty to look at, a joy to ride, a sweet companion and has the potential to take you to the pay window in any arena or get the job done at home on the ranch.
The following 7 photos are at the Childears Branding May, 2025, near Arthur, Nebraska. A special thanks to “With Love Co. Photography” for taking pictures that day and sharing them with us.
